The Area
Franschhoek sits in the principal wine producing valley of the Western Cape comprising of: Stellenbosch, Paarl and Franschhoek. It is widely considered to be the ‘gourmet capital’ of the Western Cape and houses some of the best restaurants in South Africa.
The Village is approximately 45-50 minutes drive from Cape Town and its airport.
There is plenty to do and see in the region whether visiting local wineries, trout fishing, walking or riding in the mountains or, playing golf at nearby Paarl. Cape Town hosts a multitude of attractions including Table Mountain, the Waterfront, the Aquarium and Kirstenbosch Gardens. The coastal routes East and West are spectacular and there are a variety of beaches within easy driving distance. At certain times of the year, you can enjoy whale or penquin watching or you can venture further inland to follow the beautiful and renowned Garden Route.
